Dr. Hari Sawkar, MD
Dr. Sawkar is a urologist who sees patients at his office in Orange, CA and performs surgeries primarily at St Joseph Hospital, where he serves as Chief of Urology. Dr. Sawkar is originally from Portland, Oregon but he lived all over the country before settling in Southern California. He graduated magna cum laude from George Washington University in Washington, DC, where he received a BS in biomedical engineering and then spent four years studying at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, earning his MD.
He continued his westward migration to the University of Southern California for residency, where he completed his specialty training in urology. Since that time, he has had the opportunity to speak at multiple professional conferences and has authored several peer reviewed publications. His areas of focus include advanced treatments for BPH, prostate cancer, robotic surgery for benign and malignant urologic diseases, prosthetic surgery, minimally invasive treatment of kidney stones, and voiding dysfunction. He is board certified by the American Board of Urology and is a member of the American Urological Association.
In his free time Dr. Sawkar is an avid outdoor enthusiast and enjoys running, snowboarding, hiking, and biking.
